- The 1st stage of RRB NTPC exam are screening in nature, there are three sections i.e. general awareness, mathematics & General Intelligence & Reasoning.
- Total 100 multiple choice Questions out of 40 questions for general awareness sections & 30 questions for Mathematics & General Intelligence & Reasoning sections each.
- Each question will get 1 mark for right answer.
- For every wrong answer, 1/3 marks will be taken from the score
- The time duration of 1st stage of CBT exam of RRB NTPC will 1 hours 30 minutes.
- For PWD candidates, they will get 2 hours.
- Shortlisted candidates who have passed 1st stage of CBT exam they will be qualify for second stage exam.
RRB NTPC 2019 Stage-2 Exam Pattern:

- The 2nd stage CBT of RRB NTPC exam is divided in three sections i.e. general awareness, mathematics & General Intelligence & Reasoning.
- Total no. of questions is 120 with total marks of 120.
- Each question will get 1 Marks for right answer.
- For every wrong answer in RRB CBT exam, they will be deducted 1/3 marks
- The time duration of 2nd stage of CBT exam of RRB NTPC will 90 minutes.
- For PWD candidates, they will get 2 hours.
RRB NTPC Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
*Only for Traffic Assistant and Station Master Positions
- The candidates will have to secure minimum T-score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify for all the categories.
- Candidates need to qualify in each of the test batteries.
- The medium of Questions & give answer in RRB NTPC exam only in English and Hindi.
- In CBAT test, there will be no negative marking
- Merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.
Typing Skill Test (TST):
- This Typing Skill test (TST) of RRB NTPC exam is qualifying in nature.
- RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) will be called for qualified candidates for typing test that will be the eight times the number of vacancies
- The typing speed of the candidates should be 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without any editing tools and spell checking facility.
Document Verification (DV):
The last stage of RRB NTPC exam will be completed after document verification. The final selection of the candidates will be based on performance in 2nd stage CBT/CBAT/TST. After the document verification, qualified candidates go for medical test.
